Make plans to attend our 2009 Shearing Day Open House! If you are
interested in owning Alpacas, raw alpaca fleece, 100% alpaca yarn,
or just want to come and see come cute critters, this April 18th, come
out to Good Shepherd Farm. As the date gets closer, the event will
be growing so check back often.
Visitors will have an opportunity to see the animals that were once
considered to be sacred in the Andean Mountains of Peru, Bolivia,
and Chile, South America. What a great photo opportunity! Come see
our baby alpacas, called cria. Be sure to as for our newest edition,
Eve, who was born on Christmas Eve, 2008. Visitors are also
encouraged to submit alpaca names for future babies. Be sure to
sign our guest book too!
Interested in owning Alpacas? The owners, Chris & Rebecca will be available to answer all your questions concerning the care and
management of this wonderful livestock investment. Why loose money on Wall Street when you can invest in Alpacas and literally watch your
investment grow. Also ask for a catalog and sales list of the current herd at Good Shepherd Farm. You can also register for our Alpaca Herd
Health Day that will be on Saturday May 9th. This workshop will show you the proper care and management, husbandry, feed, record
keeping, and marketing.

Spinning / Knitting / Crocheting / Felting If you are a spinner of yarn you will want to come
and get your hands on this fiber. Softer than cashmere, Alpacas were once considered the fiber of
royalty and was reserves for Inca Kings. A spinning specialist will be available to make hand spun
yarn by order for any raw fleece purchased at the event.
Knitters and Crocheters will have the chance to see the animal from which the yarn was made from
and can pre-order the yarn they choose. Our 100% Alpaca yarn is all natural, non allergenic, and
5 times warmer than wool and even warmer than synthetics.
Dartmont Freewill Baptist Church will be at the farm selling hot dogs and refreshments.

Our remaining 2008 100% Alpaca Yarn will be available for purchase and
the supply is very limited. The chart to the right show the natural colors of
the alpaca. Raw white fiber can be dyed to any color you wish.
Also available for purchase will be the hand made creations from Top
Knotch Top Knots, the fashion division of our farm.

3. Turn right at top of mountain on Ashford Rd/Ashford Nellis
Rd/Nellis Rd 4.8 mi
4. Turn right at Lower White Oak Rd 1.4 mi immediately after
crossing bridge. Stay to the left. Watch for signs
From US-119
1. Turn on Rock Creek Rd / WV-3/WV-94 go 5.5 miles
2. Halfway up mountain take sharp left go 8.2 miles
3. Go straight at new bridge, do not cross. Go 1.4 miles Stay to the
left and look for signs
