Lord Willin' Shearin'

I am Derrick Spangler based in Floyd County, Virginia.  I provide professional
shearing (or clipping) services for Sheep, Llamas and Alpacas.  I am a
Certified Sheep Shearer through ASI and am trained in shearing Llamas and
Alpacas as well as hoof trimming and other things that you may need done
during shearing time.  I will be available to come out and setup shearing
demonstrations in your area as well as conduct wool quality seminars (for
example: 4-H or FFA Clubs.)
This site is new and information will be added as time goes on.  In the
meantime feel free to ask me any questions you may have!  If I do not know the
answer, I will find it!  I look forward to hearing from you.  And thank you for taking
the time to look at my site. God Bless!
Biosecure Alpaca Shearing

John shears Huacaya and Suri Alpacas for $30 a head,
and he will trim their toenails at your request.
If you have more than 30 animals at one location,
he will do them for $25 a head, toenails included  ...
He prefers to lay them down and restrain them with ropes
as this is safest method for both animal and shearer.
He brings his own restraints and mats, as well as  helpers, but prefers owners to have their
own help bagging and sorting fleece as well as cleanup.
If you or your vet would like to vaccinate, worm or do teeth while he's got them down,
please be sure to let us know beforehand as this tends to slow down the process.
Fall Line Fiber and Shearing is the result of our passion for fiber and the animals that produce it. Please visit often as our
inventory will change as we acquire and process different fibers.

Who are we?

Mary Clare and Sarah are partners who created a place on the internet to find and purchase alpaca, wool, and occasionally
other types of fiber in the form of roving to spin, processed yarns, and finished products for gifts or for yourself. And if you
happen to be the owner of alpaca or sheep, this is where you can come to schedule your annual shearing.

Don’t know what to do with all of that fiber that your animals produce? We’re happy to advise you on some of the many options
you have and to help get you headed in the right direction. If you are not interested in the fiber aspect of the animal, we would
be happy to discuss acquiring your fiber from you as well.
